MCC released NRI list for Round‑2 Counselling (NEET‑UG 2025), including the document requirement and admission process under NRI quota for deemed universities/colleges.
MCC’s NRI List for Round‑2 Counselling: Key Updates
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has asked candidates who want to claim the Non‑Resident Indian (NRI) quota in Round‑2 NEET‑UG 2025 counselling to submit fresh documents to verify their NRI status. The documents submitted in Round‑1 will not be carried forward.
The deadline given was from 2nd September to 4th September 2025 (up to 11 AM on 4th Sep) for sending all required documents in a single email.
The email address to which to send them is: ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com.
After scrutiny, MCC has approved 188 candidates to be converted from the Indian category to the NRI category for this counselling. These conversions are provisional, subject to final verification at the time of reporting to college.
Document List Required for NRI Quota (Round‑2)
Below are the mandatory documents that NRI candidates must furnish to claim the NRI quota during Round‑2 counselling. Make sure all are in the correct format and submitted together (in one email) by the deadline.

Admission Process under NRI Quota for Deemed Colleges
Incorporating all the recent changes, here’s how the admission process works under the NRI quota (especially in deemed colleges or universities), its steps, and what to watch out for:
NEET‑UG Qualification
Candidate must have qualified NEET‑UG 2025. Only those with valid scores can participate.
Registration & Option for NRI Quota
While filling the counselling/choice‑filling form with MCC, the candidate needs to select/apply under the NRI quota if they want to be considered under NRI seats. Fresh documents must be submitted for Round‑2 to show that option.
Document Submission & Verification
As above, submit all required documents (NEET card, scorecard, proof of relationship, proof of NRI status, affidavit etc.) via email by the deadline.
The documents must be in single PDF, in specified format.
Document verification is done in two stages: first by MCC (provisionally) and later final verification by the college at the time of reporting. Also, Embassy/Consulate / Mission / MEA may be involved.
Allotment of Seats in Deemed Colleges
Deemed universities generally have a portion of seats reserved for NRI quota. Once your status is approved and you have filled your choices, seat allotments are done by MCC based on rank, category, availability, and choices.
Note: because conversion from Indian to NRI category changes your category and possibly your seat options/fee structure, ranks may play differently.
Fee Structure
Deemed colleges under NRI quota have higher fees for NRI seats (often significantly higher than regular seats). Make sure to check the fees of individual deemed colleges. MCC or other sources may publish a list.
Reporting & Document Verification at College
Once a seat is allotted, the candidate must report to the college and present original documents for verification. Failure to do so could result in cancellation of admission.
The college may send the embassy certificate etc. to the Ministry of External Affairs or respective High Commission / mission for further verification.
Final Admission
After successful verification and fee payment, admissions under NRI quota in deemed colleges are confirmed.
Keep track of subsequent rounds (if any) in case of vacated seats, changes, etc.
Things to Be Careful Of / Tips
Submit documents within deadlines strictly. Late submissions will not be considered.
Ensure the documents are complete, clear, properly attested / notarized where needed, and formatted as required.
Beware of false/fake documents. MCC has clearly said that submission of fake or incomplete documents will lead to cancellation of candidature (and possibly other penalties).
Read the specific notice(s) of MCC: the ones dated 2.9.2025 etc.
In case of any confusion (relationship, sponsor, or what counts as NRI relative), refer to the “competent authority” definitions in MCC notices, and embassy / consular guidelines.
