NEET-UG 2024

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a medical entrance exam in India for undergraduate admissions. The exam is typically conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in pen-and-paper mode in May of each year.

The NEET exam consists of 180 multiple-choice questions, with 45 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The exam is conducted in 11 languages including English and Hindi.

To be eligible for the NEET exam, candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary Education (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as their main subjects. They must also have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology combined.

The NEET exam is considered one of the most competitive medical entrance exams in India, with a large number of applicants competing for a limited number of seats in medical colleges. The result of the NEET is used for admissions to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS and BDS in government and private Medical colleges across India.

The eligibility criteria for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam include the following:

 1. Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) or Foreign Nationals.

 3. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary Education (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as their main subjects.

 4. Minimum marks: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology combined (40% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and PwD (Persons with Disability) category).

 5. Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts that a candidate can make to qualify NEET.

 6. Qualifying Exam: Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from open school or as private candidates are not eligible to appear for NEET.

 7. Year of Passing: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2017 or earlier are not eligible to appear for NEET.

 8. It's important to note that these are the general eligibility criteria for the NEET Exam and it's always advisable to check the official website of NTA for more accurate and updated information.

The NEET cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks that a candidate must score in order to be eligible for admission to medical colleges in India. The cutoff marks are determined by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and are based on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of seats available in medical colleges.

The cutoff marks for the NEET exam are usually announced along with the result and are divided into different categories such as General, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD. The cutoff marks for the General category are usually the highest, followed by the OBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories.

In addition to the overall cutoff, there are also separate cutoffs for different regions and colleges. For example, colleges in states such as Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Karnataka usually have higher cutoffs than colleges in other states.

It's important to note that the cut off for NEET exam change every year and depend on multiple factors such as number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and total number of seats available. So, the cutoff score will be different for every academic year.
